Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and 1SecCopy (“1SecCopy”, “we”, “us”). They cover the 1SecCopy apps on every device and platform we publish them for, along with their widgets, keyboards and other extensions, the Premium subscription, and this website — together, the “Service”. Apps and features we release later become part of the Service when they ship, and these Terms cover them too.

By downloading, signing in to or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the Service.

If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf.

1SecCopy is a snippet library. You save the things you copy and paste often — text, rich text, links, images, colors — as cards in folders, and put any of them back on your clipboard in a tap. Which surfaces and devices that works from is described on our website and in the app, and changes as the product does.

The app is free to download and use. Some features are reserved for a paid Premium subscription; which ones is shown in the app and may change as the product develops — syncing is one of them. See Premium subscriptions.

What decides whether your content leaves your device is syncing: with syncing off, each device keeps its own library and nothing you save reaches our servers. What happens once it is on is described under How your synced content is stored.

Some features need permissions you grant on your own device. They are optional, we ask for them only where a feature cannot work without them, and you can withdraw them in your device settings at any time.

Nothing on this site or in the app is a commitment that a particular platform, feature or release date will ship — see Availability and changes to the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service — or older, if the law where you live sets a higher age for agreeing to terms like these without a parent or guardian’s consent. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

You do not need an account to use 1SecCopy on your own device. Syncing requires one.

You create an account by signing in through one of the sign-in providers we support. We do not run a password system of our own, so we never ask for, see or store a password of yours — which also means access to your synced cards follows access to that provider account, and keeping it secure is your responsibility.

Signing out clears the 1SecCopy library from that device. Whatever had already synced comes back when you sign in again; whatever had not — cards saved while syncing was off, or not yet uploaded — is gone. The app asks you to confirm before signing out, and that prompt is worth reading.

An account is for one person. Do not share your sign-in with others or let anyone else use your account.

Premium is an auto-renewing subscription. What it costs, how long each billing period runs and what it includes are shown in the app before you buy; as things stand it is offered monthly or annually and unlocks cross-device sync, export and import, and the allowances under Service limits.

Premium is sold through the store you installed 1SecCopy from. That store takes the payment, runs the renewals and handles refunds under its own rules, so its terms decide the fine detail — including the notice you have to give to cancel in time. In outline:

• The price, the billing period and what is included are shown before you buy.
• Payment is taken by that store, using the payment method you keep with it.
• The subscription renews automatically until you cancel it, which you do through the same store. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
• If a free trial is offered and you start a subscription during it, any unused part of the trial is forfeited.
• We may change subscription prices. A change takes effect from your next billing period, with whatever notice and consent the store requires. If you do not want to pay a new price, cancel before the renewal date.

When a subscription ends or lapses, syncing stops and the cards on each of your devices stay where they are. The copy on our servers is kept for 30 days, so that resubscribing picks up where you left off, and then removed. The 1SecCopy app you install from Apple’s App Store is licensed to you under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple EULA”), which Apple applies to apps distributed on its store.

These Terms sit alongside it rather than replacing it. The Apple EULA governs the licence to that app — what you may do with the software on your Apple devices. These Terms govern your 1SecCopy account, the syncing service and this website. Where the two disagree about the app licence itself, the Apple EULA governs for an app installed from the App Store; on everything else, these Terms govern. An app installed from anywhere else is not covered by the Apple EULA, and the rules of the store you used apply to it instead.

Apple handles all payments, billing questions and refunds for purchases made in the App Store. We cannot issue refunds for those purchases; requests go to Apple Support.

Neither agreement makes Apple a party to your agreement with us. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. In particular:

• Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
• If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
• 1SecCopy, not Apple, is responsible for any claim relating to the app, including product liability claims, any claim that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection or similar legislation.
• 1SecCopy, not Apple, is responsible for investigating, defending and resolving any third-party claim that the app infringes that party’s intellectual property rights.
• You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, on your acceptance, have the right to enforce them against you.

Your use of the app must also comply with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, including the App Store usage rules they set out, and with the terms of any other third party whose service you rely on to use the app — your mobile carrier, for instance.

The cards, folders and files you save are yours. We claim no ownership of them, and nothing in these Terms transfers any of your rights to us.

To run the sync service we need your permission to handle that content: you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, copy, transmit and display your content solely in order to operate the Service for you — keeping a card in sync between your Mac and your iPhone, holding it so a new device can pull it down, showing it back to you — and to make it available to anyone you choose to share it with. This license exists only for those purposes and ends when you delete the content or delete your account.

You are responsible for what you save and sync. You must have the right to store it, and it must not break the law or these Terms.

The app includes a way to export your folders and cards to a file, so that what you have saved can leave with you. Export and import are Premium features.

When syncing is on, your cards leave your device and are stored on servers we operate. They travel over encrypted connections and are held in access-controlled systems. We do not read what you store as a matter of routine, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising. We may access it where it is genuinely necessary to operate or repair the Service, to investigate abuse, or where the law requires us to.

Passwords, recovery codes, private keys and similar secrets are better off in a password manager.

When you delete a card, we erase its contents from our servers promptly; a small record that the item was deleted is kept for a while so the deletion can reach your other devices. Routine backups may take longer to cycle out.

What else we hold, why we hold it, where it is kept and for how long are set out in our Privacy Policy.

To keep syncing fast and affordable, a synced account has limits — on how many cards and folders it holds, how much it stores in total, how large a single item may be, and how many devices may be signed in at once. The limits in force are shown in the app, which is where to check them.

The device limit works by least recent use: signing in once you are at the limit signs out the device you have used least recently, and a device signed out that way can sign back in after a short cooling-off period.

We may adjust these limits as the product develops.

When using the Service, you agree not to:

• store or sync content you have no right to store, or that infringes anyone else’s intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
• store or distribute content that is unlawful, or use the Service to defraud, harass, impersonate or endanger anyone;
• use the Service to send spam or phishing material, or to distribute malware;
• probe, attack or overload our systems, or work around quotas, rate limits, device limits or the Premium gate;
• access, or try to access, another person’s account or content;
• reverse engineer, decompile or modify the app, except where the law expressly permits it despite this restriction;
• resell, rent, sublicense or offer the Service as if it were your own; or
• interact with our API by means other than our apps in a way that degrades the Service for other people.

We may suspend or end access to the Service if you break these rules — see Ending your use of 1SecCopy.

We work to keep 1SecCopy running, but we do not promise the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Maintenance, outages, network problems and failures at the providers we depend on all happen.

We may add, change or remove features over time, and we may suspend or discontinue the Service, or any part of it, at any time.

You can stop at any time: cancel the subscription through the store you bought it from, and delete the app.

Email us to have your account deleted, and we erase it and everything stored with it — cards, folders, uploaded files and device records — from our servers. This cannot be undone. Note that the two actions are separate: cancelling a subscription does not delete anything, and deleting your account does not cancel a subscription — that is done through the store you bought it from.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially break these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if your use puts the Service or other people at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put things right.

Records we have to keep for billing and accounting — subscription events, for example — may be retained for a limited period after deletion, as the law requires.

Running 1SecCopy depends on outside providers: for app distribution and payments, for sign-in, for keeping track of subscriptions, for hosting and storage, and for the push messages that tell your devices to sync. Using the Service means those providers process data on our behalf, under their own terms. We choose them with care but do not control them, and which ones we use changes over time. Our Privacy Policy describes what they handle.

The 1SecCopy apps, website, name, logo and design are ours and are protected by copyright and trademark law. These Terms give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the Service as intended, on devices you own or control and in line with the usage rules of the store you installed it from. They give you no rights in our brand, our design or our code.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, or that content will never be lost.

1SecCopy is a convenience tool, not a backup service or a system of record. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits consumer rights that cannot be waived under the law where you live.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, 1SecCopy will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or loss of goodwill, arising out of or relating to the Service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to what you paid for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and any mandatory consumer rights you have.

We may update these Terms as the product and the law change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top, and if a change materially affects your rights we will give notice in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the Service and, if you wish, delete your account.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan (R.O.C.), without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes arising from them will be brought before the Taiwan Taipei District Court as the court of first instance — except that, if you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may bring proceedings there.

This section covers these Terms. The Apple EULA carries its own governing-law clause, which applies to the app licence it covers — see If you installed from the App Store.

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it.
